Over the Hills and Far Away

I'm not one of those people who eagerly jumps into the driver seat while carpooling. Not to say I hate driving, I just don't get a thrill out of it like some do. Lately though, I've been hit with the urge to just drive aimlessly on the highway, passing endless acres of bare land and stopping at random ghost towns along the way. If I were to go on a roadtrip anytime soon, my outfit would probably look a lot like this one here: Southern western pieces such as a concho belt and hat, sunsety colors that would match the beautiful sky I'd see out of my windshield. Of course I couldn't forget this neat purse that was once a license plate on a car. With this outfit, I'd drive wherever the road takes for hours and hours, over the hills and far away.

Almost every time I try to follow some crazy cool hair tutorial on youtube, I give up half way and throw on a hat to mask my messy hair. Some of you guys reading this might be thinking "Lexi, don't be a quitter! Some hair styles just take some practice to get right." Y'all are correct *but* when I see an adorable beret sitting in my closet, ditching my hair styling plans becomes very enticing. It's as if the beret is screaming, "Wear me with every article clothing you own!" I knew I had to give into that temptation the second I recieved these gorgeous cat eye glasses that Firmoo had sent me in the mail. These aren't just any old cat eye glasses though- The smooth, wooden frames on these glasses not only make them appear more vintage, they're suprisingly very comfortable to wear! But most of all, these beauties paired with a beret and a button up blouse result in a super cute, Parisian school girl outfit.

No Glamour for Willi

Ahhh magazine covers: Not many things scream "You've made the big time" like having your photoshopped face plastered on one of them. A classic symbol of fame, if you will. With this killer Miracle Eye tank, I ran in the opposite direction of the traditional, prim and proper brand of fashion commonly displayed in magazines. I just ain't about that stuffy glamour life. (And I think using the word "ain't" is a pretty decent idicator of that.) I mean, that modern minimalist look is cool and all but I'm too attached to fringe and chokers to go down that path. (In other words, more is more in my book.)

Sound And Vision

Thank goodness black and white remains such a timeless color scheme-it's one of my go-tos on days where earthones aren't cutting it for me. I'm always on the hunt for more B&W pieces so when I laid eyes on this Milanoo dress there was no way I could resist. (And so I didn't resist because I'm the first to admit my willpower with cute clothes sucks. I'm ok with this.) With this look in particular, I traded my typical solid black tights and jacket for some fishnet tights and shag cardigan; When working with black and white, I find it more fun to play around with different textures to break up the opaque colors. I suppose it's my way of updating classic styles that inspire me, in this case, Mod fashion. Maybe like modern mod fashion? OR "Modochrome." Yup, let's go with the last one.

Space Cadet

Deep within the heart of the Californian grasslands, one can find many peculiar creatures roaming about. Here, we see a wild cheetah...shirt-wearing Lexi in her natural habitat. What exactly is she doing in this leather on leather ensemble you may ask yourself? Well, she's probably acting like her space cadet self, zoning out of reality and dreaming up new outfits. (that will probably take her months to actually wear cuz she has this weird OCD thing about wearing outfits at the "perfect" time.)
*Quick note: My bad for breaking this third person narration thing *but* I wanted to take a moment to address my new hair cut. I'm really digging the length, makes me wonder why I didn't chop it off months ago. The only tricky part about it is figuring out different ways to style it. If you guys have any suggestions or tricks for working with shorter hair feel free to leave a comment and let me know. (:

I Won't Be Found

See all the shades of orange, red, and brown on this killer vintage vest? I would say they remind me of the warm colored leaves where I live. However, that would imply my neck of the woods got the memo that it's autumn now. This shouldn't shock me at all considering it's pratically spring/summer all year round. Bummer, I know. Don't worry though, I ain't gonna let the heat melt away my chances of celebrating fall fashion. When sweaters and scaves aren't pratical for this time of the year, I opt for colors that give that cozy fall feeling rather than garments. So what if I can't wear my favorite black and white, sequin sweater that's chilling in my closet? I've got earthtones going on in this ensemble from head to toe, whichs reminds me of all the warm-fuzzies that fall brings. And that's enough to satisfy me...for now, because my longing for 65 degree weather only grows stronger with every October day that passes.

California Light

Often when people think of  California, images of bright, sunny beaches and palm trees towering over streets pop into their head. As iconic and inspiring as these CA traits might be, there's a side of the state that steals my heart faster than any other: The Wine Country. There's nothing like the sight of vineyards stretching for what seems like miles upon miles and the refined wineries neighboring them. It's the perfect blend of rural and luxury- a combo I wanted embody with this look. Staying true to the whole country feel, I went with this gorgeous prairie dress and cowboy boots. Also, I needed a bag for my vineyard exploration so I brought along this adorable Milanoo horse print bag. (The closest I'll get to traveling with a horse which I'm cool with.) At this point, the outfit needed a bit more chicness which called for some classic red lips and a red floppy sun hat to match. (along with a ridiculous amount of jewlery to Lexify it, of course.) ♥
